Amtrol Therm-X-Trol ST-12 is a 4.4-gallon in-line thermal expansion tank for closed potable hot-water systems. It provides space for water expansion as a water heater heats the system. The tank has a 3/4-inch stainless-steel system connection and a factory pre-charge of 50 PSIG. Its potable-water application differs from Extrol tanks used in closed-loop hydronic heating.
